The Lee County Port Authority hired Wright Construction to widen approximately two miles of the existing four-lane divided roadway to six lanes. This expansion process consisted of drainage modifications, utility relocations, roadway widening, asphalt paving, concrete curbing, new lighting, signage, landscaping, and irrigation. The scheduled completion date for Terminal Access Road is April 2017, however, the actual completion date was November 2016, completed almost a year ahead of schedule.
